  • Man, with the amount of edits, and the last crat to edit doing so in 2012, you could probably apply to adopt this place.

I was wondering, with graphics on articles like Repair Tool reflecting the most recent Ascend graphics, do you think it would also be okay to find and add images of how things appeared initially in Starsiege: Tribes and Tribes 2?

    • Both valid points, I was against the buying thing too but later when asked if I'd rather have the old way, I realized the game wouldn't work without it (without completely redoing it anyway). As for equal ground, Ascend is one game where skill truely trumps equipment. Sure in some cases the unlocks are superior in every way, but you can easily see the difference if a veteren player goes onto a new blood server with no unlocks; he'll still dominate the board

But I loved both T1 and T2 and will forever remember the awesome time I had playing them. I was folowing Tribes before T1 even launched, and loved it ever since (although Vengence was just ok).

    • Overall I'd say I preferred T2 to T1 in the long run (though it took some getting used to), but yeah, got introduced to T1 by a friend around a year before T2 came out. Vengeance... I can't recall if it or Ascend were easier to play. Should probably give both a chance.

I feel bad for not getting into the Earthsiege/Starsiege series, and that that project to merge its mecha with Tribes never panned out.

  • You have made most edits and were active in December, crat hasn't been active since April, maybe you could adopt wiki?

    • Stellar 7 was one of Dynamix (who created the original Tribes) first games. The bad guy was Gir Draxon, Nova 9 was it's sequal.  It was ret-conned into the Tibes series when Dynamix made Gir Draxon the leader of the Bioderms in Tribes 2. They did the same with Hunter/Hunted when in Starsiege they refer to the hero of that game as a sort of savior figure to the people of earth...

    • Yeah, I'm going to check the manuals for the pages in Starsiege and Tribes 2 where they're mentioned in case anyone argues it :D

  • what was with changing the edit I made to the shrike page, changing 'kph' to 'sph' (sanics per hour)? sanics are the official measure of speed in Tribes

      Loading editor

    • Oh that’s what you meant. Sorry I had never seen it abbreviated that way and I thought you were just messing around. I think however that the word 'Sanics' is equivalent to ‘kph’ (just like ‘mph’ is; a measurement of speed as opposed to distance) so if you use that it should be written as ‘Sanics’ as opposed to 'sph' (Example: “Leaven crossed the field traveling at 250 sanics” is the same as “Leaven crossed the field traveling at 250 kph”).

Again, sorry to undo something you meant to be serious, I have to undo random 'graffiti' type edits all the time.

  • You seem to be a person who has been here long. You happen to know anyone is an active staff member of this wikia?

      Loading editor
    • I don't think we have any "Active" staff, afaik the only "staff" is the admin who started the wiki, but I don't see him post much. I've kinda taken over the site now, but only 'cuz I post so much more than anyone else, not because I have any real authority. Did you need something?

        Loading editor
    • Thats a bad thing. Every wiki should have atleast one active staff moderating the wiki. If you see the guy go ask for adminship, you deserve it.

  • I started adding some pictures there. But the table is messed up and I can't figure out how to fix it.

I change it in the edit window and it looks right, but when i publissh, the picture moves to the wrong column...

    • Yeah, whoever made that page originally did something really weird. I was going to get to it someday.....

Probably the best way would be to delete the whole column and make a new one. If you want to do it you can just make a new table above/below the one that's there and cut/paste the titles and then add in images, and delete the old one when you're done. If you don't feel like it I'll probably get to it eventually...

      Thanks

    • Fixed it. It includes total XP needed for levelling up and a levelling up curve.

  • Hey, thank you for all the edits on the weapon pages to incorporate the new info box.

I made some updates on the box to increase it's potencial. You can see all available options on the documentation page here: http://tribes.wikia.com/wiki/Template:Infobox_weapon/doc

This page is excellent to find the values for DPS: http://ph-matt.dyndns.org/~matt/weapondamage.php

For other information may it be good to peek at the other wiki ( http://www.tribesascendwiki.com/Spinfusor ) from time to time, but I honestly prefer to use Wikia to create wikis because nobody wants to register in so many places. Here we have a shared account for all Wiki projects. :)

    • Actually, I figured it out, thanks anyway

    • Added some new optiosn to the weapon infobox since HiRez changed their setup quite a bit.

"upgradexp" obviously got removed, but we got "masterxp" now, which indicates how much it costs to fully master a weapon. Can't tell how much it is for other stuff, since I pretty much upgraded all basic equipment already, but for weapons it always seems to be 15000 XP.

Then we now have different rating bars for weapons, depending on their type. Explosive weapons will make use of "radiusrating" while automatic weapons use "rangerating" instead for the bar. Weapons with ammo clip reloading will make use of "cliprating" while others use "ammorating".

Unfortunately are bars no longer separated into five individual segments but are more fluent due to the new weapons, which makes guessing the exact values a bit hard.
