The Motion Mine is a deployable explosive weapon used by the Sentinel class in Tribes: Ascend. It was released in the Marksman update and can be unlocked for 240 Gold or 42000 XP.

"The motion mine detonates in a 360 degree radius, but only on enemies traveling at over 120kp/h. It has slightly smaller range than a claymore, but covers a larger area." In-Game Description.


The Motion Mine deployes like other mines however it will only detonate when an enemy player passes over it at high speed. Because of this, it can be used to defend the flag much like the Doombringer's Force Field (which deals more damage the faster the enemy is traveling. Since these mines will not trigger on slow-moving enemies, they can be placed in high-traffic areas (such as the tunnels on Arx Novena) and still be able to stop a capper who travels much faster than other enemies. Like other mines, the Motion Mine will be destroyed when it is hit be an enemy explosive weapon.
